Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for providing clinical dental services and preventive oral health care in a community health center setting. 

Position Qualifications:

  • Graduation from an accredited dental school required with a minimum of two years clinical experience preferred.
  • Unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of Colorado is required.
  • Current DEA registration is required.
  • Knowledge of public health principles and practices preferred.
  • Annual Flu immunization by Nov 1, annual TB screening, current CPI training and BLS PRO certification is required 

Knowledge, Skill & Abilities:

  • Ability to work with staff across disciplines to ensure the effective operation of the clinic while maintaining a high standard of quality and customer service.
  • Ability to foster a comprehensive team approach to service provision among all team members across disciplines, with a priority on the care team successfully working together to accomplish projects and   organize/prioritize tasks, while anticipating needs and making adjustments as necessary.
  • Knowledge of integrated healthcare and its applications to day to day clinic operation.
  • Proficient and knowledgeable in all aspects of currently recognized dental care protocols and best practices.
  • Ability to follow established universal precautions and report potential exposure to a communicable disease immediately
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively; plan own work schedule; effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a fast paced, and often hectic setting with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate program needs and services to individuals and groups.
  • Ability to implement administrative/clinical standards and measurements of said standards.
  • Proficient in use of office equipment, i.e., calculator, copy machine, telephone and fax machine. Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Word and Excel.
  • Must regard all work as confidential and demonstrate an accurate understanding of HIPAA requirements.
  • Must have current driver’s license, ability to be commercially insured and maintain a driving record that allows insurability with AHS commercial insurance agency.
  • Ability to take on additional duties when necessary.
