Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for general maintenance associated with Axis Health System locations.  This is a critical position requiring the exercise of independent judgment and action within the context of balancing preventative maintenance needs with an ongoing list of immediate repair needs. Position is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the electronic tracking system utilized by maintenance and will coordinate with supervisor on how to utilize output of the electronic tracking system to efficiently optimize organizational resources.  Facilities staff must be sensitive to the fact that he/she will always be around patients and must act accordingly. Thorough working knowledge and ability to adhere to AHS on policies and procedures is required.  

Position Qualifications:

Education or Formal Training

  • Requires a high school diploma/GED
  • Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Annual Flu immunization by Nov 1, annual TB screening, current CPI training required.
  • General computer knowledge and the ability to use Microsoft Office products 


  • 3 years of experience in diagnosing general maintenance problems in commercial work environment
  • 3 years of experience with HVAC, plumbing and/or general repairs in a commercial work environment 

Knowledge, Skill & Abilities:

  • Ability to manage multiple priority projects simultaneously
  • Ability to operate with a great deal of latitude for independent judgment and initiative
  • Ability to interact well with people – staff, clients and outside agencies – in a professional, courteous and confidential manner
  • Ability to organize and prioritize assignments based on the work orders submitted through the electronic tracking system and any emergency maintenance needs
  • Ability to complete routine repairs with little or no supervision
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard
  • Ability to operate equipment necessary to make minor repairs
  • Must have a current Colorado driver’s license and ability to be commercially insured and maintain a driving record that allows insurability with AHS commercial insurance agency
